The Preconstruction Group

Our goal is to be the best preconstruction department in New York City. Although preconstruction services are not a profit center for Monadnock, the quality of these services and the value we bring during the precon phase of our projects are an essential way we can differentiate ourselves from our competitors in an increasingly commodified market. Clients’ desire to work with us during preconstruction is one of the important ways we can continue to obtain negotiated- (as opposed to competitive-) bid projects and to be hired at an early enough phase in the design process to have a real say in the outcome.

The way we can have the best preconstruction department in New York City is to maintain the following:

• candor,

• tough-minded analysis,

• constant incremental improvement,

• total honesty with our clients,

• and an outlook that their interests are as important as our own.

Towards that goal, this site is intended to be a resources to group members by describing some basic procedures, information, practices, and tips relevant to the work we do in preconstruction at Monadnock.
